Once approved, cash out your earnings directly to your registered M-Pesa number.
Anyone 18 or older, resident in Kenya, with a valid M-Pesa-registered phone number and the writing ability to complete academic tasks to a professional standard. No prior freelancing experience is required.
Tap "Sign up free" on the homepage, fill in your name, email, and password (or continue with Google), then verify your phone number and M-Pesa details from your dashboard before claiming your first task.
Yes. Creating an account and claiming standard tasks is completely free. Our optional Pro and Business plans simply unlock priority access to higher-paying tasks and faster payouts.
No formal freelancing experience is needed. What matters is that you can write clearly, follow a brief, and reference your work correctly. Many of our writers are current students or recent graduates.
Essays and term papers, research papers and literature reviews, editing and proofreading, and formatting or citation work (annotated bibliographies, reference list clean-ups, slide decks). New tasks are posted daily.
Go to Available Tasks on your dashboard, review the brief, deadline, and pay, then tap Apply. Once claimed, the task is reserved for you until its deadline.
Missing a deadline without prior communication may result in the task being reassigned to another writer and forfeiture of payment for that task. If something comes up, message support as early as possible.
All submitted work must be original and written by you specifically for the task. Submissions are checked with plagiarism and AI-detection tools, and confirmed violations result in forfeited payment and possible account suspension.
You'll see the reviewer's feedback in your dashboard. Some tasks allow a revision within a set timeframe. If you believe the rejection was a mistake, email support with your task ID.
Once your submission is reviewed and approved, payment is released directly to your registered M-Pesa number — most writers are paid within 24 hours of approval.
No commission is charged on approved task payments unless explicitly stated on the platform for a specific plan or feature. What you see on a task listing is what you earn.
Check your task status in the dashboard first — payments only release after approval. If it shows "Paid" but hasn't reached your M-Pesa, email support with your registered phone number and task ID and we'll investigate right away.
You're responsible for any personal tax obligations arising from income earned through the platform. We recommend keeping your own record of task earnings for your tax filing.
Yes — update it under My Profile in your dashboard. For security, a brief re-verification may be required before payouts resume to the new number.
Verification confirms your identity and M-Pesa details so payouts go to the right person and helps us keep the platform free of fraudulent accounts on both the writer and client side.
Most accounts are verified within a few hours. You'll see a pending banner on your dashboard until it's complete, after which you can claim any available task.
No. Each writer may hold only one ScholarTasks account. Multiple accounts belonging to the same person may be suspended.

Email support to request closure. Any approved but unpaid earnings will be settled to your registered M-Pesa number before the account is closed.
